Sometimes, the best holidays aren't about doing more, they're about slowing down.
Just a short ferry ride from Singapore, Bintan was truly a pleasant surprise. Instead of rushing from one attraction to another, we wanted somewhere that encouraged us to simply pause, spend quality time together, and enjoy the little moments.
That was exactly what we found at Four Points by Sheraton, Bintan, Lagoi Bay.
From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortless. The resort strikes a beautiful balance between modern luxury and relaxed island living, making it equally perfect for couples, families, and anyone looking for a peaceful weekend away.

Getting There
One of the biggest reasons we love Bintan is how accessible it is from Singapore.
After a comfortable one hour ferry ride to Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal, it's only a short 10-min transfer to the resort. Before you know it, city life has been replaced by swaying palm trees, sea breeze and a much slower pace.
For busy Singapore families, it's hard to think of a more convenient international getaway.
Our One Bedroom Private Pool Villa
If you're celebrating a special occasion, or simply want to treat yourself, I cannot recommend the One Bedroom Private Pool Villa enough. The villa immediately impressed us with its beautiful private entrance, giving it an exclusive, peaceful feel before we had even stepped inside. The living room is spacious and tastefully designed, making it a wonderful place to relax with a coffee or simply enjoy the quiet.
Next to it sits the elegant dining area, perfect for enjoying room service or a slow breakfast without leaving your villa.
The bedroom feels incredibly calming, with soft neutral tones, plush bedding and large windows that let in plenty of natural light.
But the highlight has to be the bathroom. It's one of the largest resort bathrooms we've stayed in. There are his-and-hers wash basins, an indoor rain shower, a separate outdoor shower surrounded by greenery, and thoughtful touches throughout that make the space feel like a private spa.
Step outside and you'll find your own swimming pool waiting. Whether it was an early morning swim before breakfast or a quiet dip in the evening while our son happily played in the water, having our own private pool completely changed the experience.
Sometimes luxury isn't about extravagance. It's simply about having space, privacy and time together.
Hospitality That Truly Stands Out
Beautiful resorts are easy to find. Genuine hospitality is much harder. Throughout our stay, every interaction with the team felt warm, sincere and effortless.
Whether it was housekeeping, the restaurant staff or the front desk, everyone greeted us with genuine smiles and made us feel welcome without ever being intrusive. It's the kind of service that quietly elevates your entire stay.
When people ask us what stood out most about Four Points Bintan, our answer isn't just the villa. It has to be the people.
Perfect for Families
Travelling with a child means we're always looking for resorts that work for everyone, not just adults. Four Points gets this balance right. Our six-year old son loved having space to swim, explore and simply enjoy being outdoors.
The resort also offers a large main swimming pool, dedicated children's pool, Kids Club, beach access and open spaces where little ones can run around safely.
Meanwhile, the adults can enjoy the spa, fitness centre or simply relax by the beach. Everyone gets their own holiday.
Food & Dining
One of the pleasant surprises during our stay was the quality and variety of the dining.
Breakfast offered an impressive spread with local Indonesian favourites alongside international classics, fresh fruits, pastries and live cooking stations.
Whether you're travelling with adventurous eaters or picky little ones, there are plenty of options to keep everyone happy.
The resort also has multiple restaurants and bars serving Indonesian specialities, fresh seafood and international dishes, so there's no need to leave the property if you're planning a relaxing staycation-style holiday. The resort features three dining venues (a restaurant, a cafe and a beach club), a gym, a spa, beach access, a kids’ club, swimming pools and complimentary Wi-Fi across its rooms and villas.
The Location
Located in Lagoi Bay, the resort enjoys one of the most convenient locations on Bintan. Lagoi Bay Beach is only a short walk away, while Plaza Lagoi is just a 5-min walk, if you'd like to explore local cafés, shops or simply take an evening stroll. They even have a Mustafa Centre in Plaza Lagoi.
Yet despite being close to everything, the resort still feels wonderfully peaceful. Imagine you’re reading a book by the sea or the swimming pool, or collecting seashells, or getting a massage at the spa, or simply relaxing on the beach it's exactly the kind of place where you lose track of time.
Is It Worth It?
Absolutely.
When Four Points says it wants guests to "Kick Back and Relax," it genuinely delivers. Luxury isn't always about gold-plated interiors or over-the-top experiences.
Sometimes it's waking up in your own villa, enjoying coffee by a private pool, spending uninterrupted time with your family and being looked after by people who genuinely care.
That's exactly what this stay gave us.
